Our mastery of working with rare and difficult materials will impress even the most discerning furniture connoisseur. We are versed in the proper use of all materials including exotic woods such as ebony, holly, and satinwood. We are equally adept when it comes to the use of the rarest materials such as silver, gold, mother of pearl, abalone, antique ivory, leather, parchment, shagreen, faux ivory, and even precious stones such as lapis lazuli.
Pictured here are some of the wood bandings that we use for inlay in furniture. These bandings all start with natural different colored woods that are then glued together and sliced at odd angles yielding the very decorative patterns that are seen here.
Also pictured are some pieces of bleached mammoth ivory, a legal substitute for ivory. We utilize both real ivory and faux ivory for inlays.
Pictured here is a hand tooled leather desk top with gold filigree. We have experience working with all hides including shagreen (stingray), goat (parchment), tortoise shell, and cow hide (leather).
