Much of the furniture we build is based on the designs of master Art Deco
designer Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann. Ruhlmann led the furniture design movement
in Paris from 1914 until 1933, the year of his death. During this period,
he was one of the most prolific and imitated designers in history.
Pollaro is the preeminent creator of exact, museum quality reproductions of original Ruhlmann designs. In 2004 Frank Pollaro led private tours through the Ruhlmann: Master of Art Deco Exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The tours provided our clients with a rare view into Ruhlmann's work from the eye of a Master Craftsman.
Additionally, over a period of three years, our research team has compiled
every known photo of Ruhlmann furniture from a variety of sources including
museum catalogs, auction catalogs, and original documents from Ruhlmann's
workshop. Numbering over 300, we have categorized them for your reference
and present them below. You may also call for a CD with a PDF of this
catalog or we can send you a hard copy. Please call 908-206-1888 for more
information.
To further enhance your understanding of Ruhlmann's contributions to furniture design, we have also created a complementary website dedicated to providing the viewer with rich content about Ruhlmann's life and talent via rare photographs of his furniture, interiors and drawings.
